Frequently Asked Questions

  • While insurance can help with affordability, the regulations insurance companies enforce on therapists can be limiting to the therapeutic process. I believe that in order to effectively support my clients and better maintain their privacy, a level of clinical autonomy is necessary. This allows me to make appropriate clinical judgements and utilize a wide range of therapeutic techniques to better cater to my client’s individual needs.

  • Yes! In order to help with affordability, I offer all clients the ability to choose their own rate between $100-$150.

  • Unfortunately, there’s no straight answer for this one! Some people feel ready to move on after a few months and others a few years. It all depends on what therapeutic goals you’ve set for yourself and how much time you’re willing to spend towards achieving them. That being said, anyone is always welcome to stop therapy at any point in their journey.

  • This varies from person to person and is a decision we will both make together. Typically, clients will begin sessions weekly, eventually tapering down to every other week, and then once a month as they make personal progress and require less immediate support. However, for other clients, time and finances may make it difficult to attend every week, in which case every two weeks may be their starting frequency. If you have specific requirements, we can discuss this together in our consultation call.

  • Every session looks different depending on the individual person and problem, however there are a few things that remain consistent through each:

    1) You will always be given the space to utilize the session however you need that day. Whether it’s for venting, problem solving, self-exploration, or a little of everything, I make it a priority to ensure your needs are met.

    2) As a relational therapist, my discussions with clients have a sense of informality and humility to them. While it’s important for us to work towards achieving your goals, it’s also important that we’re able to laugh and relate to one another. I believe that maintaining this genuine connection is what allows people to feel safe while processing more difficult emotions.

    3) I will never force a client to talk about or do anything they don’t want to. While I will challenge you when appropriate, you will always have full control over how much you wish to share.
